Putting this behind cut tags so I don't inadvertently offend someone. I'm ranting about hateful comments placed on people's journals.

This was pointed out to me today. I read some of the comments and just could not understand why people feel the need to insult and threaten those of us who read and write any form of fic. Especially without understanding exactly the different types of fic and their definitions.
I understand people have their own views and they have the right to their opinion. They even have the right to post those opinions. But, please, do not place insults, threats and disparaging comments on people's journals. Being hateful is only going to fan the flames higher.
Can't stand it? Just have to get your opinion out there in that particular way? Put it on your own journal. That's what it's there for.
