Friday Eve

What a way to start off the fourth day of the week. (commonly referred to as 'friday eve', least around here)

So, instead of hitting the snooze button at five-fourty five this morning, yours truly here shut the alarm off.

Yeah, wonderful.

I swore I was only going to shut my eyes for a second. Next thing I know, it's seven am. I'm supposed to leave at six-thirty.

Mmmhmm. Great.

I have now vowed to never shut my alarm off again. At least not until I am actually up. I got to work forty minutes late. So now I have to stay forty minutes after I normally leave.

Thank God tomorrow is Friday.

Minor Rant

Who in their right mind would steal a book of checks and then use them for $2.00 & $4.00 at a fast food joint? What's the point? If you're going to commit fraud, you should at least make it worth it. I mean, a fine and a record for six bucks worth of burgers? Come on!

Why do fast food joints never check to see if the account is open? I had a book of checks stolen and a year after the account was closed a certain fast food burger joint here in PDX took seven checks on that account. Do they want to get ripped off?

And check cashing places that don't ask for id. They might as well add, "Please screw us." to their freaking letterhead. In fact there is one that literally states on their letterhead, "Absolutely no id required." Idiots.

Liqour stores are the worst. Taking a $30.000.00 tax refund from someone who is on welfare. With no id. Yeah, people sure are intelligent in the financial area.

*sighs* Okay, rant over.

Writing

Ooooh, I'm so excited. I have so many ideas and themes flowing through my head about this story I'm writing. I guess you could call it your typical dark romance that is anything but typical. It's a bit romance, a bit sci-fi/fantasy, a bit vamp thriller.

Quinn is the main male character. He's 30 years old, 6'4", european in looks, dark hair, eyes, pale skin, slender, well built. (Looks quite a bit like Tom Welling from SV. lol)He's from a planet called Terra in a dimension yet to be named. His race are called the Lamia. They are an evolved species of humans. They survive on blood, have much the same strengths as Earth's vampires, but none of the weaknesses. (At least not on Terra. That's still in the brainstorm process.) There are humans on Terra. (But I want to refer to them as something else.) There are also mystics. Humans with magical capabilities. Quinn has a twin brother, Julian. His family is the ruling family of Terra. His father is king and Quinn is next in line to rule. Julian is extremely jealous of this and has been plotting to get rid of his brother and then his father. Quinn had a wife who Julian killed. But not before Julian had a Mystic cast a spell upon her. She was to be reincarnated into a human body. On a different planet. So that Quinn and her would never meet again. Julian meant this to be punishment for rejecting him. She was Lamia also. Quinn's father has asked that he find a suitable home for the Lamia to relocate to because the rebellion of the humans against their Lamian rulers are destroyed the planet. That is how he comes to Earth.

Raven is the main female character. She is human, 24 years old, from Earth. She's 5'4", long wavy dark almost black hair, deep brown eyes, a little on the plump side but nicely shaped. Her soul is the reincarnated spirit of Quinn's deceased wife. She remembers nothing of her life as Quinns wife (I still haven't come up with a name for her). She meets Quinn when she is in college. They end up in a two year relationship. About a year and a half in she starts have visions of her life with Quinn. She thinks they are dreams and hallucinations. They drive her so close to madness that Quinn decides he must leave her. They meet again three years later.

I don't know much about Julian yet except he is dark to Quinn's light. He wants to rule the Lamia and will do anything to accomplish that. He is identical looking to Quinn. He was in love with Quinn's wife. He comes to Earth after Quinn has been there for five years.

The story starts out after three years have passed from the time that Raven left Quinn. The past will be shown in flashbacks and talked about. There will be angst, romance, action and lots of dark, dark writing. I think it's gonna be great. *grins* If you have any ideas you think would work in this, let me know. I'll be more than happy to give you credit.
