Lies She Told Herself
Bruises form fingerprints,
Silver tear tracks in moonlight,
Harsh words pierce the silence,
as fear splinters her mind.
Pain screams through her body,
Rough hands grab violently,
She whispers softly,
Her arm's broken this time.
Wounded limbs curled up tight,
Eyes closed to the night,
Only thought in mind,
Let me stay safe tonight.
I think the poetry muse has gone away. For now.
